On May 7 (Sat), an exhibition game between the American football teams Apostles (ICU) and Phantoms (TUFS: Tokyo University of Foreign Studies) was held on TUFS grounds under the clear sky as part of student exchanges associated with the framework agreement between ICU and TUFS.

Exhibition games are held with the support of the alumni of both American football teams. This is the sixth time that an exhibition game was held, but this year's game was also dedicated to the memories of a TUFS American football team member (then first-year student) who was killed in a bus accident this January.

Before the game, the traditional exchange of pennants was conducted, and the team captains of both schools presented TUFS President Hirotaka Tateishi and ICU President Junko Hibiya with the pennants. After the pennant exchange, a moment of silence was offered for the late young athlete who was supposed to take part in the game together with his teammates. The Apostles won the game 22-6, another victory following last year, making the Apostles' overall record 5 wins and 1 loss. A joint performance was given during the halftime by the cheerleading teams of the two universities, ICU Angels and TUFS Rams, to add excitement to the game.

After the game, a get-together was held at the students' cafeteria. The late student's parents attended the gathering where President Tateishi and President Hibiya expressed their condolences about the accident. After that, members of both teams including freshmen who joined the teams this spring deepened their acquaintance amidst a genial atmosphere, making this gathering a valuable opportunity to congratulate each other for the strenuous efforts made during the year.

Next year's game is scheduled to be held at ICU.
