Coronavirus Update for Exchange students from ICU

Update: March 25, 2020

Dear 2019-2020 Exchange/Study Abroad Program participants,


After internal discussions at ICU, we would like to inform you important notices below.

1) ICU will request you to return to Japan immediately and temporary, if the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Overseas Safety Level is raised to "2" or over.

2) Please follow the instruction from the host institution for a temporary return to the home country or suspension of the classroom.

3) ICU will approve to continue your study provided by your host university in virtual learning environments both at the host country or Japan. As emergency measures, we approve transferring credits to ICU if host institution issues an official transcript for the online courses.

4) Please inform International Office at ICU the details of your itinerary when you visit other countries or go on a trip by airplane including returning to Japan.


We are continuously monitoring the current domestic and worldwide development of the COVID-19 crisis and implementing ongoing measures
for the safety of our students. You may find ICU's response to the COVID-19 here.
