ICU's LAMBS Wins S2 League of 38th Asakusa Samba Carnival

Update: September 30, 2019

The 38th Asakusa Samba Carnival was held in Taito Ward, Tokyo, on August 31 (Sat.) and ICU's student group LAMBS (Latin American Music & Batucada Society) won in the festival's S2 league.

Asakusa Samba Carnival aims to re-create the samba carnival of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and began in 1981 in Asakusa. The Samba Carnival's contests are held over two leagues--the S1 League, which is the higher section, and the S2 League, with the S2 League attracting eight teams this year. LAMBS won the contest especially for the high ratings it received for its lively movements, costume, and performance among review items.

Comment from ICU LAMBS

Hello, we are the ICU LAMBS!

In this year's Asakusa Samba Carnival, we put together our parade with not only LAMBS members but also ICU students who are not part of the group and many other friends! In tune with our parade theme this year of Adventure to El Dorado, we made our way to Asakusa by likening the preparation period for Asakusa as an adventurous journey. And Asakusa, the goal, was as sparkling as El Dorado with our smiles and the smiles of the spectators! We look forward to your continued support for ICU LAMBS!
