ICU Summer Courses in Japanese have started

Update: July 12, 2016

The ICU Summer Courses in Japanese started on July 5 (Tue) and we held a welcome lunch for the students on July 6 (Wed) at the Dining Hall.

The Summer Courses in Japanese are held every year for students whose mother tongue is not Japanese and for Japanese students who returned from abroad. This year, the courses were held from July 5 to August 16 with some 102 students participating from 19 countries. With the aim of improving their Japanese language skills and understanding of Japanese culture, the students receive intensive Japanese programs consisting of 15 classes per week (the duration of each class is 70 minutes) and also participate in diverse culture programs that include Japanese flower arrangement (ikebana), tea ceremony and a tour of temples.

"It is my first experience of living abroad and I am already very much excited," "I would like to experience lots of things while I am in Japan," and "I am very much interested in Japanese culture and I would like to learn it," were among the enthusiastic comments we received from the participating students.
