Since the first class graduated in 1957, ICU has sent forward about 20,000 graduates into society. Their courses after graduation vary greatly. ICU graduates have been highly evaluated in different fields for their broad knowledge, multilingual capabilities, comprehensive judgement, creative thinking and international awareness. As indicated by data, many graduates find their courses beyond national boundaries.
The demand from various industries for ICU graduates has remained very high, and placement covers a wide range of major corporations. A large percentage of graduates enter cultural and service institutions, manufacturing industries, banking, as well as media-related business fields. It is also a characteristic of ICU graduates that many of them choose to work in international organizations and foreign based corporations, using their international awareness and language ability. The number of graduates who continue their education is also high, and around 20% of graduates are accepted into graduate schools in and out of Japan every year.
ICU graduates have been active in various fields, especially in education and research.
