Boosting academic writing ability in English as an expression of knowledge

The development of writing skills is one of the central pillars of ICU's education. After students learn the basics of academic writing in the ELA, they further develop their skills through the W-Course, which aims to improve students' research and writing skills in English, as well as content knowledge, in their specialized field.

In the W-Courses, students are assigned a greater number of writing assignments than they would receive in other courses. However, they also have the option to receive individual tutorials from designated tutors outside of regular classes. As a result, students can acquire writing skills that best fit their majors and become better equipped to write their senior theses in English.
