You’ve studied many
different subjects in high school.
Now you have many different
interests and concerns.

Many of the fields that you will study at
the university have different names from
what you studied in high school.
How well do you understand
what these fields are about?

At many universities you
have to decide your field of study
before you enter the university,
and after you enter,
you have to study within the limits of
your department and division.

Even if you develop a passion for
something new after you’ve enrolled,
it’s not easy to
change your field of study.

Things are different at ICU.

In your first two years you will study
courses broadly from among 31 majors, and
by engaging in many discussions
you will be able to see
“what you truly want to learn.”
After that, you will choose your major
and deepen your specialized knowledge.

Then you will create within yourself
a diverse network of knowledge.

After you graduate,
a Liberal Arts education will help you,
throughout your life, to create a diverse
network of people, objects,
and information, and to continue to
create new values in a global world.

Faculty members and
students from various backgrounds
gather together
at the ICU campus
to engage in discussions that are
full of life and feeling.

The beautiful natural surroundings of
the campus are the backdrop for new
encounters, discussions,
and in-depth learning.
A new path begins from here.

The path of discovery and creativity involves
making your own decisions and choices.
Your path will freely intersect boundlessly
with many other paths.

Freethinking, richly human,
and filled with an adventurous spirit,
many of our alumni are
active in various fields.

Each student can develop their individuality,
and by engaging in learning and discussions
they can experience the joy of
living and hope for the future.

This is Liberal Arts at ICU.
