NAGY, Stephen R., Senior Associate Professor

Title: Challenges and opportunities for Japan to be a true global player
Summary: The world is changing rapidly. Is Japan keeping pace? What are the challenges and opportunities for Japan to be a true global player?
This lecture explores what are Japan's strengths, its weaknesses, and the possibilities for Japan to be a pro-active global leader in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond by looking at soft power, environmental leadership, AI, and alliance relationships. You will learn that Japan's recent track record of leadership needs to be continued but it will require changes in politics and citizens at home.
