Japanese Culture Studies

Japanese Culture Studies

Following the tradition of liberal arts education, in order to enhance their knowledge both, in the chosen academic field, and in interdisciplinary comparative analysis of the fundamental structure of culture, all students will take the course in Methods of Comparative Culture Studies and will choose among a number of fundamental courses. The participation in the specialization courses on Japanese culture (art and music, literature, history, philosophy and religion), as well as in the program-wide specialization courses on Comparative Culture will enable them to develop an interdisciplinary approach to their research topic, to apply their knowledge in practice and to acquire research skills. Each student will have a personal academic advisor. Students graduate with a Master of Arts in Comparative Culture.
