Announcement of the Japanese Government Scholarship (Top Global University Project)
International Christian University Graduate School will offer the Japanese Government Scholarship to a few international students as a part of the Top Global University Project selected in FY2014. It is outlined as follows. Details will be forthcoming in June or July. Please note that the outline below is subject to change.
Outline
Eligible applicants: One who expects to matriculate ICU Graduate School Master's Course as a regular student from September 2015
Conditions:
- One who has a valid visa status of "student" as of September 2015
- One who was born on April 2, 1980 or after
- One who has made an excellent academic achievement in the previous year and who expects to maintain high academic standard during the period of benefit
- One who has not applied for other scholarships (except our Graduate School Scholarship for New Students)
Number of recipients: to be fixed
Benefit period (expected): October 2015 to August 2016
Fees covered by the scholarship:
- Matriculation fee
- Tuition fee and facilities fees (3 terms including the Autumn term of AY2015, Winter term of AY2015, and Spring term of AY2016).
- Living Expenses: monthly stipend of 144,000JPY x 11 months (amount is subject to change)
(No travel expenses are covered.)
※ICU requires all new students to attend the Matriculation Ceremony on September 1, 2015, but the living expenses will be paid from the end of October. Therefore, recipient(s) should prepare for initial fee and living expenses for the first two months. Since the scholarship is yearly basis, recipient(s) should reapply and are not necessarily granted for the second year; to prepare for such a case, recipient(s) are to bring enough academic fees and living expenses for the second year.
