Rainbow Bridge Project 2015

Between March 10 and 23, Niji will jointly perform a musical with the NGO Love Our Own Brethren (LOOB) based in Iloilo City. The organization supports and empowers children from families relying on waste picking for their daily income. Before departing for the Philippines, Niji troupers will perform at schools and nursing homes in Tokyo and Kanagawa as well as hold four workshops to prepare for exchange with Filipino children. Between March 12 and 15, they will perform at two elementary schools and a nursing home located near the dumpsite in Iloilo City, and 9 elementary schools on Siquijor Island.

Niji members will perform the "The Wizard of Oz" in Tagalog, and hold workshops to sing Soran Bushi, exchange letters, and create art. They hope to empower children who rarely have the chance to see theatrical performances.

Theatre NIJI

Niji was established in 2001 to perform at kindergartens, elementary schools and nursing homes. On average they perform about 20 times a year. Their overseas tours have totaled 7 so far in Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, India, and Kenya. Their motto is to deliver musicals and enjoy them with people who rarely have the opportunity to visit the theater.
