ICU Summer Courses in Japanese have started

July 17, 2017

The ICU Summer Courses in Japanese started on Wednesday, July 5. A welcome lunch party was held on Thursday, July 6 at the Dining Hall for participating students.

The Summer Courses in Japanese are given every year for students whose mother tongue is not Japanese and for Japanese students who returned from abroad. This year the courses were given from July 5 to August 12, with 103 students participating from 20 countries, including those who will enroll in autumn term courses at ICU starting from September. With the aim of improving their Japanese language skills and deepening their understanding of Japanese culture, the students received intensive Japanese language programs consisting of 15 classes per week (the duration of each class is 70 minutes) and also participated in diverse culture experience programs including Japanese tea ceremony, kabuki (traditional Japanese drama), zazen (Zen seated meditation) and a visit to Ghibli Museum.
