Ambassador Kęstutis Jankauskas, Head of European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia, delivers public lecture

On April 14 (Thurs.), Ambassador Kęstutis Jankauskas, Head of European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in Georgia, visited ICU and delivered a public lecture (in English without interpretation) as part of the course "Politics and International Relations in Europe" taught by Professor Takako Ueta (Major: Politics, International Relations).

In his lecture, Ambassador Jankauskas gave a detailed explanation of the background of why EUMM was deployed in Georgia and its current activities, using data and photographs.

The lecture was followed by an active exchange of questions and answers between the Ambassador and the students, providing the students with a great chance to significantly deepen their understanding on the activities of EUMM. After the class was over, Ambassador Jankauskas, who is from Lithuania, had a chat with exchange students from Vytautas Magnus University, ICU's student exchange partner institution in Lithuania, as well as Japanese students who are scheduled to study at Vytautas Magnus University from this fall.
