Students Meet to Share Information on Study Abroad

January 9, 2014

On 7 January 2014 ICU held a get-together for students of study abroad programs. ICU holds such get-togethers each year, with nearly 200 students attending the event earlier this month. The events bring together students who will join upcoming overseas programs, students who have completed and returned from such programs, and students of overseas partner schools currently enrolled at ICU with the aim of creating an opportunity for them to share information with one another.

The event put students into smaller groups according to geographic location: England, other European countries, North America, Asia and Oceania, and other countries. Students were able to establish various connections and a lively exchange of ideas followed. Students who will be entering studying abroad programs listened especially attentively. Students had various comments about the event: "I got to make new friends who will be studying at the same university that I'll be going to. After talking together I'm feeling a little more relaxed about the program." "There are some students from the university I'll be going to who are at ICU right now so they were able to give me a lot of useful information about the place where I'll be studying." "One of the students on an exchange program at ICU will go back to her school when I go on my program there. Already knowing someone there will be a great help and make it easier to make more friends."
