On June 5 (Thurs.), Hans Dietmar Schweisgut, Ambassador of the European Union to Japan, delivered a lecture at ICU. Following last year's precedent, Ambassador Schweisgut's lecture was given as part of the course "Politics and International Relations in Europe" taught by Professor Takako Ueta (Major: Politics, International Relations).

The theme of the lecture was "EU: State of Play and its Relations with Japan," and Ambassador Schweisgut spoke about the current state of the EU and the relationship between the EU and Japan. During the question-and-answer session, he graciously responded to each and every one of the many questions asked by students.
