The ICU No. 49 has been published
Update: December 21, 2021
The latest issue (No. 49) of The ICU, published in July and December, is now available.
This issue features "ICU and AI: What is the Significance of the Liberal Arts in the Age of Digital Natives?"
Through a Q&A session with 4 ICU students and an interview, we asked Dr. Hiroaki Kitano, a leading AI researcher in Japan who was appointed as Donald F. and Mildred Topp Othmer Distinguished Professor of Science of ICU (also President & CEO, Director of Research, Sony Computer Science Laboratories, a member of the Cabinet Office Artificial Intelligence Technology Strategy Council), about how the liberal arts would be beneficial in the AI age. The article also share perspectives on AI research by professors from various majors from the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.
To highlight ICU's small-group education, the issue also features a dialogue between ICU faculty member (advisor) and a student in the article "Words to Live by", followed by an article on the faculty member's research, students' extra-curricular activities, a student who conducts prominent activities, topics, news from the Alumni Association, Japan ICU Foundation, and fundraising activities.
We hope you enjoy reading it.
