Studying Abroad at Foreign Graduate Schools Information Session by Graduate Students Abroad was Held

On June 17 (Wed), three students, an ICU alumni who is currently studying for the Doctor's Degree for Life Science at the Graduate School of University of Pennsylvania, USA,, a graduate student studying sociology and international relations, and a graduate student who is studying aerospace engineering at USA held an information session called "Studying Abroad at Foreign Graduate Schools" for students who are interested in proceeding to graduate schools abroad in the future.

So many students wanted to join this session to listen to the graduates talk about their experiences, that there were participators that didn't have a seat to sit in. During this session, the graduates talked about the preparations they needed, and the significance for entering and learning at the Graduate School.

The Graduate students talked about how it is important to have a clear answer the question "why do I want to proceed to Graduate School?" Furthermore, they talked about how the environment, the culture, and the amount of time needed to learn a Doctor's Degree, are different in each Graduate School. They also talked about the pros and cons of learning at a university with advanced research, and other topics based on their experience of studying at a Graduate school.

The ICU Alumni also mentioned to the students, the importance of taking part in ICU's exchange program if they are considering on going abroad for Graduate School.

There were many questions raised in the question-answer session after this session, such as necessary skills to proceed to the Non-Scientific Graduate Schools, difficulty of changing majors at the time of proceeding to Graduate Schools, and about the experiences of choosing between proceeding to Graduate Schools and finding a job.
