On Thursday, October 22, Dr. Hans Carl von Werthern, German Ambassador to Japan visited ICU and held an English open lecture about "Germany and Europe through historic perspective" during Professsor Takako Ueda's (Major: Politics and International Relations) International History class.

Ambassador Von Werthern explained in detail about Germany during the European Integration through peace projects, Germany's coping strategy towards the current refugee issues, and how the EU should take action. After the lecture, there was a Q&A session in English, and the students were able to understand Germany's solution in depth.

Students from two German universities, The University of Münster and the Free University of Berlin (both which ICU has bilateral exchange agreement.), attended this lecture and they talked with the ambassador. The ambassador was pleased about how the English skills of the students at ICU.
