Signing the Agreement concerning Service-Learning with AIU

On July 8, Service-Learning Center of ICU signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Akita International University (AIU) for the implementation of service-learning (SL) activities for students. The purpose of this MOU is for ICU and AIU students to conduct a 30-day joint SL program in Mitaka City, Tokyo and Gojome Town, Akita.
ICU started a partnership with Dochavengers (Gojome Town, Akita) in 2020. In March 2020, four ICU students engaged in SL activities related to town revitalization in Gojome Town. Then, two universities have signed a memorandum of understanding and will begin a joint SL program in March 2022.

Through this joint SL program, we hope that students from two international universities will be able to move back and forth between local and global perspectives.
