Yukiko Muto
Executive Officer of Uber Japan, Co., Ltd. President of Uber Eats, Japan
1998 B.A. in Arts and Sciences (Social Sciences)

It’s important to take action yourself if you disagree with something

Entering ICU's College of Liberal Arts, Division of Social Sciences (as it was known at the time) in April 1994, Ms. Muto studied abroad in the United States through the SEA Program* in her second year. During that time, she improved her English and experienced new cultures and value systems. This had such an impact that her own lifestyle changed. Graduating in March 1998, she earned an MBA (in 2012) from the EMBA-Global Asia Program (Columbia Business School, HKU Business School, and London Business School).
*A 9-month study abroad program available at the time.

Yukiko is responsible for overseeing the Uber Eats business in Japan, a priority market for Uber Eats.

Before joining Uber, she was the Head of New Business Sales in Japan at Google. Prior to Google, Yukiko was the President of OpenTable, overseeing its operation in Japan.

Previously Yukiko was the President of Travelzoo Japan and an Executive Officer of Travelzoo Asia Pacific for more than six years, and also held various senior roles at Rakuten, including the Managing Director for Rakuten Dining, where she was responsible for restructuring the business units and managing the special task force projects.

Yukiko began her career with Andersen Consulting (Accenture) before co-founding ProTrade. (ProTrade was acquired by Rakuten in 2000.)
