Why does ICU have all-gender toilets and a Muslim Prayer Room?

ICU has built a Muslim Prayer Room and installed all-gender toilets so that people of all faiths and orientations can feel comfortable because ICU has always been a place where students and faculty from diverse backgrounds come together to live and study. Ever since our founding in 1953, ICU has striven to create a campus that promotes mutual respect and makes people feel comfortable based on the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We created the Muslim Prayer Room in a quiet place in University Hall so that Muslim students who enter ICU every year have a convenient place to pray between classes. We have also installed all-gender toilets in convenient places on each floor of University Hall which all our students use for their classes. The restrooms have additional soundproofing and security features so that anyone can feel comfortable using them, but we also have separate toilets for men and women on each floor for people who prefer to use those.
