For example, the following scholarships are available: scholarships for students with outstanding academic results, grants for research presentations, and scholarships to create an environment in which students can devote themselves to research.

Support for Tuition Fees
ICU Torch Relay Graduate School Scholarship for New Students
This scholarship program provides assistance to prospective students who have a strong desire to study at ICU Graduate School but are in need of financial support prior to and after matriculation. There are no repayment obligations, and awardees are exempted from payment of one-third of the annual tuition and facilities fee due in their first year at ICU Graduate School. Students applying for the Master's Course of the Graduate School are eligible to apply.
Those who perform especially well academically will be exempted all or 2/3 of the annual tuition (limited to several students).

ICU Scholarship for International Students
Master's Course students who will be enrolled in the Autumn and/or Winter term as 2nd year students are eligible for this scholarship. Awarded on the basis of academic performance and financial need, the scholarship exempts awardees from one-third or two-third of annual tuition and facilities fees. There is one application round annually, and the scholarship is valid for one year.

Support for Research
ICU Graduate School Students Research Presentation Grant
Graduate students presenting their research at an academic conference are eligible for a grant of 30,000 yen per occasion. Grants may be awarded up to twice to Master' Course students and up to three times to Doctoral Course students during their respective standard period of enrollment. To students registered beyond the standard period, grants may be awarded once per academic year.
ICU Research Grant for Doctoral Students
This is a grant to support Doctoral students' research activities. Students may apply once annually, up to a total of three times during the standard period of enrollment.

For Students with Sudden Changes in Household Finances
ICU Scholarship for Students with Sudden Changes in Household Finances
Special Measures will be made for students facing a sudden change in a household's financial circumstances caused by job loss, bankruptcy, business bankruptcy, illness, death, separation of household supporter (father/mother).
In the event of a sudden change in a household's finances and the need for financial assistance, the student may apply to the Student Affairs Group within one year of the occurrence of the sudden change. However, new students are only eligible for reasons after enrollment.
Short-term Kakekomi (emergency) aid for students in need
The objective of this system is to support ICU students who seek to continue their studies but cannot receive financial support from parents or relatives for various reasons, and have difficulty securing day-to-day living expenses. It is founded on donations from alumni, faculty, staff and the general public who embraced the opportunity to continue support. If you are in need, please see the announcement on the ICU Portal and consult with Student Affairs Group, Student Services Division staff in charge of "Short term Kakekomi (=emergency) aid for students in need".

Rotary Peace Fellowship
Eligible Applicants: Foreign nationals (Minimum three years of related full-time work or volunteer experience, bachelor's degree)
Grant: Full scholarship including full tuition and facilities fees and monthly stipend

Awards for Academic Achievements
Academic Awards (Friends of ICU Academic Awards)
Friends of ICU Designated Scholarships are funded by donations to the university made for designated purposes. The selection process is conducted by committees established for each award category, and the awards are given to the most outstanding senior theses, and master theses in the applicable academic field, or to students with outstanding grades in the award year.
