On June 2 (Thurs), within a course, "International Security" by Professor Takako Ueta (major: international studies and politics, former Ambassador, Deputy Chief of the Mission of Japan to the EU), an open lecture on "Foreign Policy of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan -International Measures against Terrorism" was given. Mr. Shingo Miyamoto, Director of International Safety and Security Cooperation Division, Foreign Policy Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, gave a comprehensible explanation about recent trends of terrorism, measures taken by the international community to prevent terrorism, and future cooperation based on G7 and other agreements.

Following the lecture, a question and answer period was provided. In addition to questions on issues such as acceptance of refugees and preventing terrorist from entering Japan, questions about personal job skills were asked. For example, "how do you respond when you are assigned to handle an issue in which you have no prior experience?" The students were listening earnestly to Director Miyamoto, while he answered each question in detail and by providing specific examples.
