Update: June 22, 2018

A career development lecture organized by Professor Katsuhiko Mori, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts , took place on Friday, June 8. The lecture was given by Yusuke Yasuda (Class of 2008), head of Kizuki Group (Kizuki Co., Ltd., and NPO Kizuki ) that runs Kizuki Kyoiku Juku , a private school providing lessons for those who have missed opportunities to learn because of truancy, social withdrawal, depression and developmental disorders or because they dropped out of school.

In the lecture titled "Creating a society where people can start over again" which is also his school's mission, Mr. Yasuda talked about his days at ICU where he involved himself in a variety of activities while asking himself how he could "work to protect the dignity of people" and trying to set the direction of his future. He told his own experience of slipping into depression himself soon after starting to work and became a social recluse. He also talked about the reasons for setting up his business and its future outlook.

In a discussion session that followed the lecture, students who are wondering what they should do in the future or who have trouble in inter-personal relations asked him many questions. Yasuda gave thoughtful responses based on his own experiences.
