Ms. Naoe Yakiya, Director of UN World Food Programme Japan Relations Office, gave a lecture

On Wednesday, February 13, Ms. Naoe Yakiya, Director of UN WFP Japan Relations Office and an ICU alumna (class of 1996) delivered a lecture in the "Global Civil Society" class of Professor Osamu Arakaki of ICU (majored in law, public policy, gender and sexuality studies, and peace studies).
In her lecture, Ms. Yakiya made a presentation on her personal history and career including the overview and activities of WFP by using specific cases such as Rohingya issues, and her own experience in Sierra Leone where Ebola hemorrhagic fever widely spread. She talked about necessary qualities and mindset in working as an UN staff from various perspectives, and received many questions from the students in audience.
