2023 LearnUs Global Semester Program Starts in Japan

Update: September 8, 2023

The LearnUs Global Semester Program has started for the Autumn term. On September 4, 20 students, 10 from Underwood International College (UIC), Yonsei University in Korea and 10 from ICU, gathered at the Mitaka Campus of ICU.

For the second year of the program, UIC students were able to come to Japan for the first time, spending the first five weeks in Japan and the second six weeks in Korea, studying five subjects courses together, including an effective combination of in-person and online classes taught by professors from both UIC and ICU, and special lectures by invited practitioners and scholars from around the world. During their stay in Japan, they will visit Nagasaki City for a week-end field trip.

This year's participants come from 10 countries, including Japan, Korea, Russia, Mongolia, the Netherlands, the United States, Austria, Jamaica, Indonesia, and China. Students with diverse backgrounds will learn about the overall theme of the program, "Reconciliation," from various perspectives while living together. We are excited to see what kind of dialogue will blossom.
