Sein Fujimoto (major: Psychology), a third-year student at the ICU's College of Liberal Arts, won the JPSA Challenge Special Men class of the Spring All-Japan Student Surfing Championships held in June at Chikura Beach in Minamiboso City, Chiba Prefecture.

The championship was organized by the Nippon Student Surfing Association (NSSA). Mr. Fujimoto has also won the 2021 and 2023 competitions. As a result of his achievements, he will be participating as a student representative in the general national competition this October, further expanding his activities.

Student's comment on his win:
I participated in the Spring All-Japan Student Surfing Championship as a representative of ICU and was able to win the championship. Unlike at usual competitions, I felt nervous at times because I was keenly aware that I was representing ICU. I am very happy that my off-season practice in the cold winter led me to the victory. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my family, friends, and sponsors who support me on a daily basis for making this win possible.

Surfing recently became an Olympic sport, but there are still many people who do not know much about surfing. I will aim for a higher level in the sport so that I will be able to convey the charms of surfing and playing with nature to many people, and will devote myself to be active in various fields as an ICU student surfer.
