Evacuation Drill for Students Residing in Dormitories
Update: November 17, 2023

On Saturday, November 11, an evacuation drill was conducted for students residing in dormitories on campus. Approximately 500 students participated in the drill amidst light rain and chilly weather.
The first segment of the drill involved evacuation procedures from each dormitory, while the second part focused on the assembly of a manhole toilet designed for disaster use. These toilets, equipped with a simple toilet seat atop a hole in the ground, aim to ensure basic sanitation functions during emergencies and serve as temporary waste facilities. Since ICU is also designated as an evacuation site for the surrounding area, these efforts are anticipated to benefit not only the student population but also residents of Mitaka City.
The dormitory students demonstrated strong teamwork and commendable commitment to the drill, diligently preparing themselves for any unforeseen circumstances.
