ICU Community Collaboration Event: Star gazing event by TANQ GAKUSHA at the ICU campus
Update: November 30, 2023

On Monday, November 27, a parent-child stargazing event was held on the ICU campus, mainly for younger elementary school students, in cooperation with TANQ GAKUSHA.
A total of 100 children and their parents were received on campus that day. This event was planned as a community event for kids at the request of TANQ GAKUSHA, an educational business based in Mitaka City, Tokyo, and supported by ICU's Lifelong Learning Program. Also the event was made possible with the help of event planner 〜École Étoile〜 and ICU student volunteers.
The first half of the event consisted of a lecture on astronomy given by an instructor from TANQ GAKUSHA in the classroom of the University Hall, and the second half consisted of a stargazing event using an astronomical telescope given by 〜École Étoile〜 on the lawn area in front of the the University Hall.

Despite the approaching arrival of winter, the area was filled with a warm atmosphere as the children cheered to see the universe through an astronomical telescope for the first time, and the adults and students gently watched and talked to them.
We will continue to interact with the local community.
