Obituary: Beverley F. M. Curran, ICU Professor by Special Appointment, Passes Away at 69

Beverley F. M. Curran, ICU Professor by Special Appointment (2013- ), passed away on October 14, 2024 at the age of 69. A memorial service will be held on October 20.

Prof. Beverley F. M. Curran served at ICU as a Professor from April 2013 to March 2020, and as a Professor by Special Appointment from April 2020 to the present, teaching in the Division of Arts and Sciences (Major: Media, Communication and Culture, Japan Studies, and Gender Sexuality Studies). She also served as Chair of the Department of Society, Culture and Media, and as Associate Director at the Center for Teaching and Learning. Her academic interest involved Literature in English, Gender, Literature in general(graphic narrative, Canadian women's writing (Daphne Marlatt), translation communities, cultural and media translation and adaptation, translation studies, and bilingual cultural productions. A much beloved educator, her teaching and research touched the lives of many students and colleagues.
