Welcome & Networking Event for New Dormitory Residents -- Taking the First Step into Dorm Life
Update: September 3, 2025

On Friday, August 29, 2025, the Housing Office hosted a Welcome and Networking Event for new dormitory residents at the university cafeteria on the ICU campus. The event aimed to foster connections among dormitory residents and help them get off to a positive start in their dormitory life. Approximately 130 newly admitted dormitory students participated.
Around 20 senior dorm residents supported the event by assisting with overall operations and serving as MCs. Working closely with the Housing Office, they helped create a warm and lively atmosphere throughout the event.
Event Highlights
The event began with an introduction of the new dormitory residents. As each dorm group was called, students responded with energetic cheers, showcasing the unique character and spirit of each dorm.
Next came an icebreaker activity, where students formed groups based on shared traits such as hometown, favorite food, hobbies, and birth month. Smiles and laughter filled the room as participants engaged in conversations, naturally connecting with students from other dorms and quickly breaking the ice.
The final challenge of the event was the "All Conditions Match" mission, where students searched for someone who shared the same favorite food, hobby, and birthday. When matches were found, pairs introduced themselves to the group, and the room was filled with cheers and joyful energy.
Through this event, new dorm residents were able to build connections, feel a sense of community with their peers and seniors, and take their first step into dorm life with confidence. The Housing Office hopes that the friendships and interactions formed during this event will continue to support students throughout their dorm experience and campus life.
