ICU Summer Courses in Japanese have started

Update: June 9, 2018

ICU Summer Courses in Japanese (SCJ) started on Wednesday, July 4. A welcome lunch party was held on Thursday, July 5 at the Dining Hall for participating students.

SCJ is a program for students whose mother tongue is not Japanese and for Japanese students who have returned from abroad. This year, SCJ will be held from July 4 to August 10, with 94 students participating from 18 countries and regions. While staying in ICU dormitories on campus or with Japanese families off campus, SCJ students attend intensive Japanese language programs of 15 classes per week (the duration of each class is 70 minutes) and also participate in diverse culture experience programs including Japanese tea ceremony, kabuki (traditional Japanese drama) and zazen (Zen seated meditation) to improve their Japanese language skills and deepen their understanding of Japanese culture.
