The ICU Library came out on 1st in the 2022 edition of "University Rankings" by AERA Mook (published by the Asahi Shimbun Publications) that rated 791 colleges and universities across the country. One of the reasons was the large number of books borrowed per student.

Students can access ICU's collection of over 800,000 books covering a wide range of fields in Japanese and other languages, as well as designated class texts and electronic databases contracted by the library. ICU may be small, but it has over 70 contracted electronic databases and one of the highest database access rates among Japanese universities. The library is also home to the Kanzo Uchimura Memorial Collection and the ICU Archives, a collection of materials relating to ICU's history.

  • ICU's enhanced learning support system

The ground floor of the Othmer Library houses the Center for Teaching and Learning which helps students with their studies and faculty with their teaching. In the basement, there is a study area and a café space where students can take a break from their studies. The Main Library houses the Office for Special Needs Support Services.
