Candlelight Service

Update: December 19, 2017

Every seat was filled in the University Chapel for a candlelight service held on Friday, December 15.

This activity involves students providing volunteer service in various ways. This year, as in past years, the candlelight service included a performance that was given by a choir and orchestra organized by students especially for the service, and Bible readings by students in English, Portuguese, Chinese, Fijian, and Japanese. There was also an organ performance organized by the Sacred Music Center and performed by students studying in the Organ Course, as well as performances of sacred music by volunteer student music groups.

A message from the teachers was given by Professor Beverley F.M. Curran (Majors: Media, Communication and Culture; Japanese Studies), who is a member of the Faculty Religious Affairs Committee. Theme of Professor Curran's message was "Advent Time."
