Update: September 27, 2019

The ICU Hachiro Yuasa Memorial Museum is holding a special exhibition titled "YAGU Japanese Bedding Items" from Sept. 10 (Tue.) to Nov. 8 (Fri.).

Yagu means bedding such as futon (thick bedquilt), blankets, and pillows. The special exhibition displays a total of 50 items including yogi, kimono-like cotton-stuffed quilt, yaguji, cloth for covering futon, and tokagu, a lantern for lighting dark rooms.

Students studying in the Curatorial Training Program participated right from the setting up of the displays and are holding gallery tours in this special exhibition. "Given the amount of information, it was hard identifying how and what to convey to the visitors in an easy to understand way," said Yuri Inao, a 4th year student who conducted the tour on Sept. 18 (Wed.).
