Update: November 26, 2021

As a part of the Faculty Development Program, "Successful Internationalization: Educational Best Practices at ICU", a session on "Best Practices in Education", was jointly held online by the Center for Teaching and Learning and the Top Global University Project Office.

The 3rd session was held on November 15, 2021, hosted by Professor Hideki Okamura, Department of Natural Sciences (Physics Major), and titled "University-led Science Classes for Children and the Significance of Science Education"

26 people from outside the university registered for the event, and about 32 people, including participants from inside the university, attended on the day. The session explored the purpose of science education for children (and to the general public) and why science education is essential to Japanese society. He also introduced specific examples of science classes at nursery schools, elementary and junior high schools, and classes to teach scientific thinking to humanities students.
