ICU International Summer Program in Japan (ISPJ) Begins

Update: July 11, 2023

The International Summer Program in Japan (ISPJ) just started in July 2023, bringing together Japanese language learners from around the world and ICU students interested in Japan studies to study various aspects of Japan. It is based on the Summer Courses in Japanese (SCJ), which has nearly 50 years of history.

On July 4, the international participants arrived at the dormitory on ICU campus, and on July 5, we welcomed the students at orientation, a campus tour, and a welcome ceremony. From now until July 28, various classes and programs will be held for about 4 weeks.

2. "Japan Studies Module" to study Japan from various perspectives:
In the afternoon, ICU students will join in omnibus-style classes taught by ICU faculty members specializing in a wide range of fields, including psychology, business, pop culture, history, literature, art, environment etc. The students will explore Japan from multiple perspectives, exploring both its traditions and contemporary society.

3. Off-campus field trips:
Places to learn include teamLab, Glico's factory, Nogawa Park, Ghibli Museum, Yokohama, and more. We organize off-campus field trips in order for students to learn actively.
