ICU Graduate Student Received the Outstanding Presentation Award

Our doctoral student, Eiman Yassin, received the outstanding research presentation award from Prof. Keiichi Ogawa, the president of Japan Society for Africa Educational Research (JSAER) at Tohoku University on April 7, 2024.
Eiman Yassin's presentation titled "The O-STEM Model: Unveiling the Ecology of Open Educational Practices in Egyptian STEM Secondary Schools" appealed the need for contextualization of socio-cultural factors for usage of online materials with its rapid expansion in the world. Her unique perspective based on a rigorous qualitative research methodology applied to the case study in Egypt was highly evaluated in the conference.

I am deeply honored to receive the outstanding research presentation award from the Japan Society for Africa Educational Research at Tohoku University. Presenting my research was a truly rewarding experience, and I am grateful for the recognition it has garnered. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to my advisor, Prof. Nishimura Mikiko, for her invaluable guidance throughout this research endeavor. I am also grateful to my seminar members for their insightful comments and feedback during the last term, which have greatly enriched my work. I hope that my research will contribute to a deeper understanding of open educational practices and their profound impact on students and educators worldwide.
