Award comments from Dr. Suzuki:
I received the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon at the 2024 Spring Conferment Ceremony held at the Imperial Palace on Monday, May 13, 2024, and was presented the award by His Majesty the Emperor. (I have been teaching for 13 years in the U.S. (Indiana University: 2 years, Washington State University: 6 years, University of Illinois: 4 years, University of Washington: 1 year) and 38 years in Japan (ICU: 26 years, Akita International University: 8 years, Prefectural Hiroshima University and Eikei University: currently in my second year). The main reasons I have been able to continue for such a long time are the good research and working environment, the colleagues who encouraged each other, and the support of my wife. Once again, I would like to express my gratitude to ICU. I would also like to thank God from the bottom of my heart for watching over me.
