Dormitory Student's Caroling Event

Update: December 22, 2025

On December 18, 2025 (Thurs.), ICU's dormitory student's traditional caroling event was held. This event was held by around 100 dormitory students that participated from across the 9 dorms on campus. The event took place at the 3 dorms, Maple House, Oak House, and the Global House, where other dormitory students enjoyed playing music while walking around the area.

This caroling event has been inherited by dormitory students for many years, as an annual winter event, and as an important chance for dormitory students and their peers to deepen their cultural exchange. This year as well, it was managed by student constituents, and in charge by the culture committee members that run dormitory events, focused on advancing the event's planning and preparations. Within the allotted time, culture committee members and dormitory students discussed various topics and practiced their performances, in addition to respecting and treasuring their tradition. Currently, dormitory students are devoted to making the event one where each person can enjoy.

On the day of the event, while December's cold air drifted along, they presented the musical composition that each dormitory practiced. Songs that were performed include those such as Let It Go, All I Want for Christmas Is You, Feliz Navidad, and other songs that are centered around befriending the people around you, which led to a different atmosphere in each location being born. At one dorm, everyone that participated formed one group, and sang in unison together, bringing everyone together, and facilitating a warm and pleasant feeling. On the other hand, at a separate dorm, they separated into groups, and beautifully harmonized their instruments, leading to a refined singing performance that resounded in the hearts of the people who listened. Each dorm's individual personality was expressed through music, which caused visiting students to spontaneously stop walking and listen to the beautiful melodies that danced in the night air.

Through different dorms sharing music and jointly visiting each other, dorm students who usually have a low chance of interacting with other dormitory students gained a chance of interacting with others. Each time a song ended, the sound of applause and smiles on people's faces spread, and the eager spread of conversation was observed. Caroling isn't just an event of singing simple songs, but instead, it's a place where people can come together, and have a memorable experience.

In the night of winter, resounding Christmas songs along with this times' caroling event, caused a spirit of unity to be produced among the dormitory students, and a precious chance of new connections that reaches beyond the dormitory's walls was fostered. This event was one where each individual dormitory student that participated, felt a sense of overall unity, overlapping with each other, creating a warm and unique atmosphere, distinctive to ICU's dormitory students.
