ICU Farm Project Held Celebration Event
Update: October 6, 2026

On September 26, the "ICU Farm Project Celebration 2026" was held on campus. To mark the 3rd year of the ICU Farm Project, which was launched in May 2024, around 30 participants--including students, faculty and staff, representatives from the Japan International Christian University Foundation (JICUF), and local community members from Mitaka City--gathered together for a rich dialogue while sharing the natural blessings of the campus.
The ICU Farm Project has been actively promoting hands-on learning opportunities for students to connect with nature through food and agriculture. This event was organized to share the achievements and current progress of the project with participants through food, fostering a sense of unity among everyone involved.
Leading up to the event, student interns, along with faculty and staff, took the lead in preparations starting the day before. Dishes made with ingredients harvested right on campus--such as basil, tomatoes, potatoes, and Mitaka Osawa wasabi--were served to the guests.
The event was wrapped in a warm and friendly atmosphere throughout the day, as attendees engaged in conversations across generations and positions while enjoying the meal. During the gathering, student interns also gave a presentation on their activities, providing a valuable opportunity to share their daily initiatives, learnings, and personal insights with the guests.
Moving forward, the ICU Farm Project will continue to create opportunities for learning and interaction through food and agriculture, expanding its community network set against the backdrop of the campus's rich natural environment.
