Large Number of Books Borrowed
ICU students use the library frequently.The annual number of books borrowed per student in 2023 was 32.3 volumes, which is about six times the national university average.

Extensive materials
Students can access ICU's collection of over 800,000 books covering a wide range of fields in Japanese and other languages, as well as designated class texts and electronic databases contracted by the library. ICU may be small, but it has over 70 contracted electronic databases and one of the highest database access rates among Japanese universities. The library is also home to the Kanzo Uchimura Memorial Collection and the ICU Archives, a collection of materials relating to ICU's history.

ICU's enhanced learning support system
The ground floor of the Othmer Library houses the Center for Teaching and Learning which helps students with their studies and faculty with their teaching. There is also a Writing Support Desk, where specially trained tutors assist undergraduates with writing papers and reports, and Quantitative Skills Support, where learning supporters help students develop fundamental knowledge in mathematics, information science, statistics, and more. In the basement, there is a study area and a café space where students can take a break from their studies. The Main Library houses the Office for Learning Accessibility Services.
